Frequently Asked Questions

How do brightness and contrast adjustments work?

For each decoded RGB channel, Vizua first adds the brightness value from −100 to 100. It then applies factor = 259(C + 255) / [255(259 − C)] around midpoint 128 and clamps the result to 0–255. Alpha is unchanged.

Can I adjust brightness and contrast at the same time?

Yes. The tool applies both current values to every selected image and reprocesses the stored sources when either slider changes. Brightness is applied before contrast, so the operations are not interchangeable.

What values should I use?

There is no source-independent preset. Larger positive or negative values can clip channel detail at 0 or 255 and can shift the intended appearance. Compare representative highlights, shadows, skin tones, text, and gradients, and keep the source.

Adjust Brightness & Contrast — Precise Controls is designed for quick, repeatable work in a modern browser. The controls on this page let you prepare the result without installing software or creating an account.

How to use Adjust Brightness & Contrast — Precise Controls

  1. Select or drop the file you want to process, or enter the information requested by the tool.
  2. Review the available settings before processing, especially format, dimensions, quality, color, or other details that affect the output.

Private by design

Your files never leave your device. All processing happens locally in your browser.

Tips for better results

  • Start with the cleanest source available; a small, blurry, or heavily compressed file contains less detail to preserve.
  • Check dimensions and format before downloading so the result matches the site, app, printer, or platform where you will use it.
  • For large files, close unnecessary tabs and test one representative file before processing a full batch.
  • Open the downloaded result once before sharing it or replacing an original.

Where Adjust Brightness & Contrast — Precise Controls fits in a workflow

Use Adjust Brightness & Contrast — Precise Controls for one-off adjustments or as a preparation step before publishing, sharing, archiving, or continuing the edit in another application. When batch processing is available, validate the settings on a small sample first and then apply them to the remaining files.
