Frequently Asked Questions

How many frames can I use?

The current editor accepts 2 to 20 supported images. Each decoded source becomes one frame. Use the left and right controls to reorder them; there is no drag-to-reorder. The first frame sets the aspect ratio and every frame is stretched to the shared output rectangle, so differently proportioned sources can be distorted.

Can I control the animation speed?

Yes. The delay control runs from 50 to 2000 milliseconds in 50 ms steps and starts at 200 ms. GIF stores delay in centiseconds, so the selected value is divided by 10; player timing can still vary.

What about color, transparency, and file size?

Output width ranges from 100 to 800 pixels. Each frame is quantized to a local palette of up to 256 colors, and output transparency is not retained. Lower width often reduces pixel data but does not guarantee a smaller file. Inspect motion, color, banding, timing, dimensions, and size.

Tips for better results

  • Start with the cleanest source available; a small, blurry, or heavily compressed file contains less detail to preserve.
  • Check dimensions and format before downloading so the result matches the site, app, printer, or platform where you will use it.
  • For large files, close unnecessary tabs and test one representative file before processing a full batch.
  • Open the downloaded result once before sharing it or replacing an original.

Where GIF Maker — Animated GIF Creator fits in a workflow

Use GIF Maker — Animated GIF Creator for one-off adjustments or as a preparation step before publishing, sharing, archiving, or continuing the edit in another application. When batch processing is available, validate the settings on a small sample first and then apply them to the remaining files.
