Official Social Image Sizes 2026
This dataset records image dimensions published by the platforms themselves. It avoids copying unsourced size charts that continue circulating after product guidance changes.
What changed
- YouTube: current guidance recommends a 3840 × 2160 thumbnail, not the 1280 × 720 value still found in many older guides.
- Instagram: feed photos can retain aspect ratios from 1.91:1 through 3:4 at up to 1080 pixels wide.
- Facebook Pages: the official fast-loading cover recommendation remains 851 × 315, with responsive cropping.

Methodology
- Use first-party help or product documentation only.
- Record the platform’s recommended or explicitly supported size, not a third-party convention.
- Preserve aspect-ratio ranges and responsive-cropping caveats.
- Date every verification and update the dataset when official guidance changes.
